Every winter we host a warming event for our neighbors and other Milwaukeeans to get together and have a blast! Started in 2002, Winter Blast used to be Bay View's chili cook-off contest with local restaurants and neighbors vying for first place. In 2012, the BVNA announced its very first LUAU-themed Winter Blast!
The luau-themed festivities are awesome, too: an appearance by the Klement's racing sausages, a Hawaiian shirt contest, hula hoop and limbo contests, spam carving and face-painting. A tiki photo booth will be available for you and your friends and family to take memorable tiki-themed photos.
Live music, delicious food from local restaurants, face-painting, contests, and booths from numerous community and neighborhood groups are just a part of what to expect at Winter Blast.
It's a great place to warm up and chat with your neighbors in the middle of winter!
If you'd like to set up a booth or volunteer for Winter Blast, contact us at bayviewneighborhood@gmail.com.
