On June 14th, the BVNA and the BVGAYS planted, at long last, the triangle at the corner of Kinnickinnic, Lincoln and Howell Avenues, affectionately known as the KK Triangle. The BVNA’s Public Spaces Committee chair Stephanie Harling championed this cause and worked hard
to see it come to fruition. Bob Solem from BVGAYS also played a significant role in the planning of this project. With shovels, trowels and gardening gloves in hand, a group of tireless volunteers transformed the Triangle, as well as the planters along North KK, into the beautiful, blooming green space it is today. The City of Milwaukee provided 30% of the plant materials as well as installing the irrigation system.

The BNVA would like to express our gratitude to the volunteers who aided in the planting, Stone Creek Coffee and Wildflour Bakery for providing planting-day treats, Bay View landscape architect Henry Szymanski for donating his design expertise, and Everyday Philanthropists and William Jones Foundation for their generous grants. We couldn’t have done it
without you!
