Saturday, December 1st, 4:00–9:00pm
KK Holiday Art Crawl, Silent Auction, and Evening of Holiday Family Fun!
Your first stop on the art crawl should be a visit to LOCATION #1 — 2270 S. Allis Street, in the Allis Street Condos next to Wild Flour Bakery. Here’s where you will receive your free program guide for the evening at the Bay View Neighborhood Association’s Information Center.
Make sure to plan for some holiday shopping at the silent auction too, as the proceeds of the auction will be used to fund community projects in Bay View during 2008. Silent Auction bidding begins at 4pm and closes at 8pm. (Please plan to pay with cash or check and pick-up your items by 9pm that evening.) Read below to find out what items will be available at the auction—all thanks to the generosity of our local businesses. Each artist listed below has also generously donated a piece of their art to the auction too.
Saturday’s Art Crawl includes 20 stops. Highlights of the route include the business store-front decorating contest, trees decorated by local school students in Zillman Park, carolers and live music, music and dance for children 2-8, stories and photos with Santa, face painting by Rainbow Randa the clown, the Santa Cyclers, and a Book signing by Bay View author Peggy Brown, as seen on “The Rachel Ray TV Show”!
Besides the fun and festivities, you’ll also find two places where you can help make a difference in the lives of needy families this Holiday season—the “Holiday Tree of Canned Goods” located on Stone Creek’s patio, and Babe’s Ice Cream’s “Holiday Giving Tree.”
For the Holiday Tree of Canned Goods, please come overloaded with a generous donation of non-perishable food items for the Bay View Community Center’s Food Pantry. Your donated items will be taken and built into Holiday trees that will be displayed through the end of the evening on Saturday. Food items can be left at the Bay View Neighborhood Association’s Information Center, or be taken directly to LOCATION #5 — The Holiday Tree of Canned Goods, located outside of Stone Creek Coffee, 2266 S. Kinnickinnic.
Babe’s Holiday Gift-Giving tree begins on Saturday, December 1. You’ll find cards hanging on the tree that list the names and requests of gifts that are needed for local children. Simply sign-out a card from the tree, and then bring your gift back to Babe’s later in the month. All gifts will be distributed by the Bay View Community Center.
