Bay View Neighborhood Association Awarded Grant from Everyday Philanthropists

Milwaukee – January 17, 2008 – The Bay Neighborhood Association (BVNA) is honored to have been awarded a grant from Everyday Philanthropists of Greater Milwaukee for its Kinnickinnic Triangle Beautification Project. This work-in-progress is a coordinated effort between the City of Milwaukee, the Bay View Garden and Yard Society and the Bay View Neighborhood Association’s Public Spaces Committee to remove the concrete triangle bordered by Howell, Lincoln and Kinnickinnic Avenues, and replace it with perennial flowers and shrubs.

The Bay View Neighborhood Association’s Public Spaces Committee researches landscaping, ecological, cultural, historical, art and recreational resources and development for parks, lots, boulevards, road-sides, sidewalks and river and lakefronts. Their goal is neighborhood improvement and beautification to enhance the physical environment for Bay View residents to enjoy. Past projects include floral landscaping at the Humboldt Park Bandshell and temporary art installations along Kinnickinnic Aveune.

Everyday Philanthropists of Greater Milwaukee seeks to positively affect organizations serving the Milwaukee area, focusing on funding projects supporting the arts, education, social services and the environment. To find out more, visit www.everydayphilanthropists.org
